Suzi Swinehart-Carolus

From the time I laced up my first pair of running shoes at age 10, running has been at the heart of my life. My journey extended through middle school, continued through high school, college, and evolved into professional ultramarathon running.

In my competitive career, I have completed more than 60 ultramarathons, earning 40 women's podium finishes and setting five course records, including two overall men's and women's records. I was also honored to hold the Guinness World Record for the most miles run on a treadmill in 12 hours and previously held USATF Masters age-group records in the 50-mile, 100K, and 12-hour events.

For more than a decade, I've been coaching and consulting with runners of all ages and abilities—from middle school athletes discovering their potential to experienced endurance competitors pursuing ambitious goals. My coaching philosophy extends beyond physical training because I believe that true performance begins with the mind.

My academic background reflects that belief. I earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Purdue University, a Master's degree in School Counseling from Indiana University, and I recently became a certifed Mental Health Counselor through Butler University. By combining my education with years of competitive racing and coaching experience, I have developed a comprehensive training protocol focused on building mental resilience and a championship mindset. I work with athletes from middle school through adulthood, helping them develop the confidence, focus, and psychological skills needed to perform at their best—in sport and in life.

I don’t only coach athletes, I also coach business professionals, managers, leaders and individuals seeking personal growth. I have worked as a corporate trainer and coach at Keystone RV Company for the past five years. There I also helped develop a program allowing individuals with autism and other disabilities to be part of our amazing team of employees, helping assure a safe and accepting environment where they can develop work skills, build positive interpersonal relationships, and reach their potential as a contributing member of the community.

Beyond coaching, my greatest joy is my family. I am the proud mother of four incredible children, ranging in age from 15 to 26, and I'm married to the man of my dreams, whom I met through ultrarunning. Together we enjoy life on Winona Lake, where you'll often find us boating, spending time on the water, or recovering from our latest long run while planning the next adventure.
